FixQR provides a free, web-based tool for generating static QR codes. These Terms govern your use of our Service and explain our policies regarding data, privacy, and acceptable use.

FixQR provides a free tool that allows users to generate static QR codes for various content types including URLs, text, email addresses, phone numbers, Wi-Fi credentials, V-Cards, and more. Our Service:

  • Generates static QR codes that encode data directly into the QR code pattern
  • Creates downloadable PNG images of QR codes at 512x512 pixels
  • Processes all QR generation in your browser without storing your content
  • Provides free, unlimited QR code generation with no account required
  • Supports 15+ different QR code types and formats

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use FixQR only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to create QR codes linking to illegal, harmful, or malicious content
  • Generate QR codes for phishing, fraud, or any deceptive purposes
  • Create QR codes that infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person or entity
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or impose unreasonable load on our infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or related systems
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Remove or modify any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to our Service for any user who violates these acceptable use guidelines.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain all rights to the content you input into FixQR for QR code generation ("User Content"). We do not claim ownership of your User Content. However, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your User Content solely for the purpose of generating QR codes.

Important: We do not store your User Content on our servers. All QR code generation happens in your browser, and your content never leaves your device. Once you close your browser, we have no record of what QR codes you generated or what content they contained.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to use and authorize us to process your User Content
  • Your User Content does not violate the rights of any third party
  • Your User Content complies with all applicable laws and regulations

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Our Property

The FixQR Service, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our Service without our express written permission.

6.2 Your QR Codes

QR codes you generate using FixQR are yours to use freely. You may use them for any purpose, including commercial use, without attribution or payment. However, you are responsible for ensuring your use of the QR codes complies with applicable laws and does not infringe on third-party rights.

6.3 Open Source

FixQR uses open-source libraries and components. The specific licenses for these components are acknowledged in our codebase and do not affect your rights to QR codes you generate.

7. Privacy and Data Collection

7.1 What We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or have access to:

  • The content you enter for QR code generation
  • The QR code images you generate
  • Personal information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
  • User accounts or login credentials (we don't have accounts)

7.2 What We Do Collect

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data, including:

  • Pages visited and features used
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
  • Referring website

This data is anonymous, aggregated, and used solely to improve our Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FIXQR AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FixQR and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your User Content or the QR codes you generate

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice. Common reasons for termination include:

  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Abuse of the Service or excessive resource usage
  • Request by law enforcement or legal requirement

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. However, QR codes you've already generated will continue to function, as they are static and don't depend on our Service.

12. Changes to Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We may also modify these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect when changes were made.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between you and FixQR as a result of these Terms or your use of the Service.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content accessible through our Service infringes your copyright, please notify us with the following information:

Note: Since we don't store user-generated QR codes or their content, DMCA notices will primarily apply to our own content (website design, documentation, etc.).
